As a board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist, Dr. Bruno Azevedo is one of the pioneers in the clinical use of 3D imaging in dentistry.
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has promoted changes in approaches in Endodontics and enhanced decision-making in complex clinical cases. Despite the technological advancements in CBCT hardware, the interpretation of the acquired images is still compromised by viewing software packages that often have limited navigational tools and lack adequate filters to overcome some challenges of the CBCT technology, such as artifacts. Learn some of the unknown unknowns regarding 3D imaging in endodontics.
During this presentation, Dr. Azevedo will discuss how to overcome CBCT artifacts and discuss advanced imaging patterns regarding root fractures, pulp anatomy and apical pathologies.
